To assist individual writers of fiction who wish to self publish with free start up advice, editing,

and partial cost of the printing.

To assist makers of short films and music videos

by providing  start-up, in production,

and post production funding.

The remainder of the 2024 fund has

been proffered. New funding will be

available in 2025.

To assist individual writers of LGBT fiction who wish to self publish with free start up advice, editing, and partial cost of the printing.

To assist makers of LGBT themed short films

and music videos by providing  start-up,

in production, and post production funding.

These will be only LGBT ventures.

The funding will be determined

on the strength of applications

from individual writers of LGBT fiction

and writers of LGBT screenplays.

​​BCAD is currently operating on

a not for profit basis.

The fund is replenished

mainly from the sale of

rare cinema memorabilia.

Funds are currently proffered twice yearly.

 

​We aim to support individuals who are:

Passionate and knowledgeable about the technical aspects of both fiction and film,

and the LGBT story they have created.

​​​

Who have considerable knowledge of

the history of LGBT fiction,

and LGBT film history.

​

​​Whose writing has visual cinematic elements.

​​​

Who have a strong belief in,

and commitment to their work.

​​

Who may have personal connections

with new and fledgling film makers.

​​​

Who are capable of working

with mature subject matter.

​​

Who have an innovative approach to film.

​​​

Whose aim is to self publish their fiction

or work within the film industry.​​

OUR EXPECTATIONS

 

That each funded project is completed by the applicant granted funding, and that upon completion each should endeavour to promote their book , otherwise their film, and reach a wider audience via online selling platforms, streaming platforms, and film festivals within the United Kingdom, and other countries.
